Purr-fect Tuna Patties
Makes 5 servings
INGREDIENTS:
2 eggs
1 6 1/2-ounce can of water-packed tuna, drained and flaked
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp brewer's yeast
1 teaspoon bone meal
Pinch of salt
2 tbs margarine

In a medium-sized bowl, beat the eggs. Add the tuna, bread crumbs, brewer's yeast, bone meal, and salt. Thoroughly blend with a wooden spoon until moistened. In a skillet, melt the margarine over medium heat. Take small handfuls of the mixture and form five patties. Place the patties in the skillet. Cook each side for 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Place the patties on a plate. Once they are cooled, crumble them into small pieces to give as a meal or as treats.

Purring: The Scientific Mystery

For some reason, everyone seems to think cats only purr when they're happy. This isn't true. Cats can purr while they're sick, anxious, or basically feeling any strong emotion. Here are some more facts about the mysterious purr:

  • Unconscious cats or cats under anesthesia , for some reason, don't purr.
  • Cats can purr while both inhaling and exhaling. Sadly, us humans can't do that.
  • Kittens can purr and nurse at the same time.
  • Out of all the sounds cats make, purring attracts the most attention and curiosity.
  • Purr vibrations happen so quickly they cannot be caught on any scientific equipment.

Funny Cat Quotes

"Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and they will pee on your computer."
                                                                                    -Bruce Graham

"We have two cats. They're my wife's cats, Mischa and Alex. You can tell a woman names a cat like this. Woman always have sensitive names: Muffy, Fluffy, Buffy. Guys names cats things like Tuna Breath, Fur Face, Meow Head. They're nice cats. They're been neutered and they've been declawed. So they're like pillows that eat." -Larry Reeb

"I gave my cat a bath the other day. He sat there, he enjoyed it, it was fun for me. The fur would stick to my tongue, but other than that...."  -Steve Martin

"A computer and a cat are somewhat alike: they both purr, and like to be stroked, and spend a lot of the day motionless. They also have secrets they don't necessarily share."  -John Updike

"I wonder what goes through his mind when he sees us peeing in the water bowl." -Penny Ward Moser

"Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well."   -Missy Dizick
